Manager of late Park Yong Ha charged with bank fraud

Lucky she was caught. I don’t believe her excuse of getting his albums and stuff for keepsakes purposes and that the money is for “managerial purposes”.

Manager of late actor charged with bank fraud

Late Korean singer and actor Park Yong-ha’s manager has been indicted for attempted bank fraud by fabricating a document to withdraw money from the actor’s account in Japan, a prosecutor said Tuesday.

According to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office, the manager tried to withdraw Park’s assets, 240 million won ($220,000), saved at a Japanese bank just a week after the actor committed suicide in June 2010. Park’s body was found at his residence in Seoul, having apparently killed himself.

But the manager’s fraud ended in failure when a teller at the bank declined to retrieve the savings, as she knew of the actor’s death.

The manager is also under suspicion of stealing the deceased’s photos, a music album and cameras, worth more than 26 million won, from the management company where she and Park had worked together for many years.

The actor’s sister, Park Hye-yeon has been running the firm, Yona Entertainment, as chief executive officer.

The manager denied the accusations, claiming she did not attempt to steal the money.

“I didn’t try to steal the savings. I have the authority to use the money as a manager. For the photo albums and records, I just want to treasure them as keepsakes from him for old time’s sake.”

Park, who made his debut in 1997, was propelled to Hallyu stardom following his stint in the highly successful KBS drama “Winter Sonata” in 2002.

On the wings of his Korean Wave success, Park forged a career for himself in Japan, where over the course of five years he churned out 10 hit albums as well as hit singles and won four consecutive Japan Gold Disc Awards — a first for a Korean pop artist.

Park Si Hoo being investigated for rape charges

Well, let’s not jump to conclusions since the case is still open. I did a double-take when reading the news in Chinese.

According to the English news report, it seems he did have sex with her but he said it was consensual and not rape – from what I understood. Hmm…

Actor Park Si-hoo denies rape accusation

Park Si-hoo, a well-known hallyu star, has been accused of allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman.

According to the Seoul Seobu Police Station, the woman, who is reported to be an aspiring actress, formally lodged a complaint with the police last Friday, reportedly accusing Park of sexually assaulting her on the same day when they were drinking together.
Police said Park will be summoned soon for further investigation.

Park issued a public statement on Tuesday and admitted that he did have a drink with the woman, but insisted that he did not forcibly have sex with her.

“In the process of (meeting the woman) we were mutually attracted to each other and shared our feelings, but I assure you I did not have a forced sexual encounter with her,” Park said. “I do not feel shamed at all, and the truth will reveal itself in the police investigation.”

The actor said he will fully cooperate with the police and urged the media not to make “outrageous speculations” until the investigation is over.

The 36-year-old actor, who built his fame with his role in “Iljimae” and “The Princess’ Man,” is hailed as a promising Korean Wave star. After enjoying a series of success on TV dramas, Park made his leading actor debut on the silver screen in “Confession of Murder” last year.

“That Winter” drama to air today, 13th Feb

Yep, today’s the date for the highly-anticipated drama starring Jo In Sung, Song Hye Gyo, Kim Bum, Jung Eun Ji, etc.

Here’s one of the official poster and 1 cute picture of Kim Bum + Jung Eun Ji pair.

They are “fighting” against “IRIS 2”, which has an all-star cast (Jang Hyuk, Lee Da Hae, Lee Bum Soo, Sung Dong Il, Jo Sung Ha, Kim Young Chul, Baek Sung Hyun, Lee Joon,  Yoon Doo Joon) and the currently airing “Level 7 Civil Servant”.

Based on cast alone, I would pick IRIS 2 but after watching (1 or 2 episodes) and reading recaps of both IRIS 1 and Athena, I would say you will enjoy more if you suspend your inner logic reasoning behind.
