  1. Just wanted to say how much i love this blog. It’s very updated and i love everything about Korean entertainment that you post. It’s like a blog i want to set up myself, only that i don’t have time. Anyways, thanks for such a wonderful site.

  2. ^ thank you. Your comment really encouraged me to continue blogging. I will try to bring in better CJK-news.

Hmm…maybe I should update this page of mine soon coz now I have found what I want to write (compared to what I’ve started back in January).

  3. hello. i stumbled across your blog while googling for help with my japanese. and was wowed at all your japanese lessons! i love them. i am yet to go through them all properly, but really THANKYOU! because i am horrible at japanese, but really badly want to get better 😛 so yeah, thankyouthankyou:)

  4. oh man! i love this site, all of your posts just make me happy! i mean it has everything here, without you i wouldn’t know what songs/ artists/ albums/ music videos to see or hear! thanks. this is my first time leaving a comment but it probably won’t be my last. anyway, this is a BIG THANK YOU!!

  5. Hi, I am looking for the mp3 of “Gaseumapado” by Fly To The Sky and “Save the Last Dance for Me” by Eugene. Sorry but I don’t know how to type Korean. If you have the files, can you please send them to me?? Thank You So Much!!!

  6. A friendly hello from a fellow k-pop blogger! You have some neat posts here 🙂

btw, what’s your email? I can’t find it anywhere on your blog…

  7. Hi
Thanks for all the cool vids/info
I had a quick question for you. Can you email me or give me your email? Thanks.

  8. LOL, why I was asked for my email address ? Anyway, elizabeth, I have emailed you.

popseoul, shenyue supposed to give you my email address.

  9. Thank god I found your web-page! Today, I went to Korean CD shop and bought my most fav singers’ latest (half?) album, SoulStar!!! And I tried to access to their official HP, but I couldn’t! Then I kept searching for any information about them, but never found anything as good as yours!!!

May I ask you something? I’ve always wanted to know who’s who in the band, I mean, which one is which Lee… (I know their faces and that they’re all Lee…^^) ?? And also, I want to know which voice belongs to who? I’m just in love with their voices…

One more thing, my other favorites are Browneyed Soul, Wheesung, Se7en, Crown J and YG family♪ I really wish I’d have a chance to go to their lives someday (I’ve been to Se7en’s twice though).

Anyway, I really wanted to say thank u so much!!

  10. ^ no problem… look at the pic below:

From left: Lee Gyu Hoon, Lee Chang Geun, Lee Seung Woo

In terms of their voices: Seung Woo is the lower pitch (bass ?), Chang Geun is the higher pitch (he has a very high pitch that’s almost the level of some female singers) while Gyu Hoon is ehm…middle? Well, Gyu Hoon is “officially” their main vocal because of his range, I think.

  11. Ohhh my gosshh! Thank you so much for your reply with their picture!! I can’t tell how happy I am to know which name and voice is whose! Now I know that my biggest crush is Seung Woo*u*!! Though I cry by Chang Geun’s voice, and I actually like all of their voices! Oh, they’re the best for me, I never get bored of their vocals.

Well, I really appreciate your help and all the info you share with us. Would you mind my asking about you? You’re so interesting! You an expert on Korean music, fluent in English (and Japanese I guess?), and can teach Japanese!! Hope I don’t bother you, but I feel like we have so much in common ^^ in the sense that I’m Japanese but speak English, I’m so into Korean music (particularly R&B and soul) and besides, I’ve been involved in teaching Japanese!! I also used to be working in music industry, and no music no life person. I can’t be more thankful to you for this blog!

  12. ^ You are welcome. I always like to hear or get to know people who like music, especially Korean / Japanese.

I like SoulStar very much, ever since their first album. They are really so under-rated… have you seen them in live performances? They sing together very well. Maybe next week, when I start my week-long holiday, I can post some of their live clips. I want to promote their songs a bit. Have you heard of Big Mama. Seung Woo is the brother of one of the members from Big Mama. All the members in BM is very good singers too with powerful vocals. I haven’t started to listen to their latest but hearing from reviews and record sales, they are doing real well. I have a habit of listening to male voices even though I do listen to female singers. It’s just that I rather choose the male singers…if you get what I meant.

LOL, I can’t say I’m an expert on Korean music. I just like to listen to their ballads, R&B, some hip-hop and pop. I’m a person who’s not really into boy bands – that’s probably why you seldom see me cover/post boy-band related news. I don’t know Korean BTW which I kinda regret cause if I do know Korean, I can post/find out a lot more things regarding all the singers that I listened to. Now I have to rely on Chinese news source or English news source. As for the Japanese news source, I kinda just started but seeing my Japanese level is like half-baked, I will have to spend a lot of time trying to decipher what those news report are saying!

The Japanese lessons that I am blogging are just re-capping the lessons that I learnt in class. The main reason I am re-capping those lessons is really to force myself to do revisions! LOL, I am one of those people who sometimes don’t want to study 😛 unless I necessarily have to. Are you Japanese and a teacher too? Gosh ! I felt so embarrassed because errr…lol, those Japanese lessons that I blogged… -___-” I don’t think they are up to err… “teaching” level …

I would like to thank you for visiting this blog. 🙂 ah so happy that you said this blog is helpful to you.

  13. Thank you for your reply again^^
Your music preference is the same as mine! I fell in love with Soul Star since I heard the first line of the intro of their first album. I was like, “Ohh, my gohhhhsshh who in the … they are!?” I even wanted to cry for joy to know that there are non-African American singers who can make phat and soulful songs like those and sing like that!!!!

I don’t mean to say that African Americans are the only best in R&B and Hip-Hop, but they’re definitely the most influential ones in those areas, as in the fact that they’re the creators of those genres of music. I started listening to African-American soul music since when I was in my mom’s tummy^^ and grew up listening to Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson and Motown music. I only listened to soul music in my life UNTIL I met KOREAN R&B!! It was a shock. I never thought I would listen to any Asian singer up untill then.

Since then, I got hooked on Koeran R&B and Hip-Hop and now my i-Pod is full with Korean tracks! I’m exactly like you!! I don’t mind female vocals either, but I prefer male vocals a lot more. Especial Korean male singers’ voices are deep, thick, and absolutely sexy!! Seung Woo’s voice is killing me!!

OH!! He’s the one whose sister is one of Big Mama! I knew one of them was, but didn’t know that it was him. What an amazing family! I have Big mama’s 2nd and 3rd. I haven’t checked out their latest, but saw an MV from it. They’re really good, but their tracks are not my type much.

Well, I can’t stop when I start talking about music and artists I like!! I wish I could have a little talk with you in person!

One more thing, I’m Japanese, but not a professional Japanese teacher!! I have just taken a short basic course of how to teach Japanese and used to work for a Japanese language school as a staff (not a teacher). I’m sure you can teach Japanese better (you know it’s hard to teach your mother tongue)!!

Anyway, it’s so fun and nice to talk to you^u-♪
    See you next time!

  14. Sorry for being selfish. I’ve been reading your blog for a very very long time, but I rarely post. I’ll post more, maybe 🙂

And for your Japanese lessons, I always feel bad for not reading them. Not that I do not want to, but I hardly even understand basic Japanese grammar. 😛

  15. I LOVE YOU VVVVVVVVVVVVV MUCH AND WANT TO MEET YOU. I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU AND YOUR ACTING IS MIND BLOWING. PLEASE VISIT INDIA ESPECIALLY IN GUJARAT.ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR FUTURE PROJECTS. I LOVE YOU.

  16. Hiii~

I just wanted to say that I’ve passed through your blog often and never said anything. You have a really great blog here. Happy Posting~

  17. I just found this blog. I really enjoyed going through some of the music. I ‘m like you and prefer the male voices especially the Korean tenors. I also like Ken Hirai very much. Amazing voice. Don’t often see him or hear him for some times

My real favourite Korean singer is KIM DONG UK. He studied in Canada in music. Jazz as well as ballads. He is a very fine musician. He went back to Korea and made a few albums and gave several concerts. He is a serious artist and does not do variety shows or dramas. His voice is wonderful. I hope you can listen to him as I am sure you would be impressed.

Thanks for the music you introduce and for this blog.

    Peggy
