Kakushi Toride no Sanakunin – The Last Princess trailers

This is the new movie from Matsumoto Jun, Nagasawa Masami, Hiroshi Abe and Shiina Kippei. I’ve watched the first one and it is WOW! Now they have released the second trailer.

To watch the trailers, you will need to go to the official site and click on trailers.

Here is a news that I  found:

At yesterday’s premiere of “Kakushi Toride no Sanakunin – The Last Princess” in Tokyo, it was announced that the movie will be screened in the U.S. later this month. A remake of the 1958 Kurosawa Akira classic, known internationally as “The Hidden Fortress,” it was a major influence on George Lucas when he was making “Star Wars.” So the new version is to be shown at the Norris Theater at the University of Southern California, the director’s alma mater, on April 27. After yesterday’s premiere at the JCB Hall, star Matsumoto Jun (24) said he was very excited about attending the event in California along with director Higuchi Shinji. “This movie is a mix that includes some of the best elements of the past 50 years of western cinema. I think it’s turned out great and should be well received in America.” With a cast that also includes Nagasawa Masami, Abe Hiroshi, and Shiina Kippei and a poster designed by famous manga-ka Inoue Takehiko, the movie opens at theaters in Japan on May 10.

  1. a remake of The Hidden Fortress?? why did they remake it …? Kurosawa’s movies are already great! and where’s that PRETTY boy MatsuJun??? hi hi …

gotta see this … at least just for the sake of comparing the two.

  2. ^ Did you see “Darth Vader” in the trailers? LOL, I read that George Lucas was inspired by this movie and went on to make Star Wars.

    It’s a pity that I didn’t see Nagasawa in buns’ hairstyle 😛

I think MatsuJun looks cool in this movie ne… at least, he appeared more manly (compared to the pretty boy image he always displayed).

  3. naah .. i couldn’t watch the trailer as my connection is slow. it moves at the pace of a snail … well worst! i’ve read that about George Lucas. even previously, Hollywood remade one of Kurosawa’s great and well-known movie, Seven Samurai into a western flick, The Magnificent Seven.

mmm … i guess despite of his pretty face, MatsuJun is quite capable of acting out any role cos i think he’s a good actor. hope to see this movie soon though i found the online comments on it not so encouraging.
