Lee Jun Ki on his new drama…

His new drama, The Time Between Dog and Wolf, has started screening and I have obtained and translated the following news related to this drama.

Gosh, the ratings for this drama is only about 10.8% and well, it’s low (looking at his popularity). I have no idea what drama it is competing against – don’t think it’s Coffee Prince… hmm…and Money Warfare has ended….
LJK thoughts on his new drama:

He said it was successful for the first half (meaning achieved half of what he expected) in that no one is now comparing his character to the character of The King and Clown. In his opinion, he has successfully shed that character’s image in the audience mind with the emergence of this new character.

However, he has mixed feelings when he knew the ratings for the second episode, which was only 0.1% higher than first episode. At first he was a bit disappointed at the ratings but felt happy afterwards when he read about the good reviews of the drama.

On why he chose this character: he said he wanted to shed his “pretty boy” image and this was the main reason why he has chosen this drama and his upcoming movie, “华丽的假期” (I think the English title is “May 18” (site here).  He wanted to show people a completely different Lee Jun Ki. With regards to the audience criticism,  he said he felt sad and “冤枉” (err..it kinda means someone accusing you of something you didnt do). But now he has learnt that criticisms can also do good to himself – he felt moved (to better himself) and the people’s care towards him and spurred him to improve.

This is the first time he is the lead of a drama and he’s already feeling the pressure (of the ratings). He said the plot for next week will be more exciting and currently he has filmed 7 episodes of the drama. He hope the audience will stays with it. He added that Money Warfare (the one starring Park Shin Yang) have just ended and hope that the ratings will climb soon.

He said the drama has been broadcasted later than the scheduled date so there’s a lot of pressure (on him, I think) for this drama.

  1. The starting quite intresting ..watch up t epi2 ..
not bad .. and I’m looking forward the ending ..

if u like dark story, secrets and mystery .. maybe u can try this one ..

  2. i feel sad when fans and viewers won’t let an actor stretch his talent and try new things different than his current image, and try to keep them in a certain type. it is refreshing to see an actor grow with trying new things and challenging themselves with different parts in dramas or movies and seeing what they can do. i hope we can be supportive of these actors and actresses and see just what they can do and love them all the more for being brave and trying new things!

  3. I’ve seen time “Time Between Dog and Wolf” its good, i really like it, he is so different in this drama, anyone who like him should see this.

  4. His fans still longed for the “feminine” side of him, just like in the king and the clown. I don’t think he’s enjoying other guy to (I am not going to type this out, watch the movie for a better reference), but it is the reality for an artist.

Anyway, all the best to the famous Lees ~.~

My son and I got so caught up in the story that we watched the 16 episodes almost non-stop. This show was a wonderful introduction to the talented Lee Jun-Ki!
