Monkeypeaches has the full list. O_O Jet Li won the Best Actor and The Warlord won 8 awards including Best Film & Director. Congratulations to all winners!

I went to SINA to take a look at what the guests were wearing and I don’t like what all the ladies are wearing except probably Sammi Cheng and Chiu Nga-Zhi (aka Fung Ching Ching in the original The Bund drama). It’s a pity that Carina Lau didn’t attend coz she usually one of the best-dressed artist in these kind of events.

^ Best Actor and Actress.

WOW! I love this movie. If you have the chance to watch it, please do. Highly recommended. The plot is really, my oh my – even though I already read about the overall plot of the movie, I’m still in shock after watching this movie O_O!

I need to re-watch this movie a few more times to have a further understanding (especially the ending part O_O). I think if you watch it without knowing the plot will be even better :)

Lau Ching Wan really deserved that Best Actor nomination (and I hope he wins!) in the upcoming 27th HK Film Awards.

Note: Please, Hollywood, do not remake this movie! :/

..a girl ?! O_O

After watching the trailer (click here),  he, or rather, she really looks/behave (in the movie) like a boy (!).

I’m so excited as the release date for this movie is just about 3 months away, can’t wait to see it on M’sian cinema next Chinese New Year…

Congrats to Ang Lee for winning the director’s award for Lust, Caution. This is his 2nd win (first one was Brokeback Mountain).

For full story, read here.

Another news bit (still on this movie) is that Jacky Cheung (!) has been selected to sing the Chinese theme song for this movie… :) good, very good news. BTW, I’m going to his concert next week…

For the full story, read here.

Something to look at while they are still filming the movie.

Please go over to MonkeyPeaches’ Lust, Caution page to read the various reviews for this movie. I haven’t read all but it seems they are good :)

SINA has tons of articles related to this movie (and other Venice Film Festival). I’m not sure if I have the time to translate (some of ) them.

O_O guess it’s that time of the year for PIFF. What I am interested about is the new Evangelion movie. I read about it from Garten’s Memento blog. I haven’t watch the series or the movies – someday, I will coz I’m now slowly getting into watching anime. I’m still watching Mushishi though, so far the Mushishi episodes are good.

The 12th Pusan International Film Festival scheduled from Oct. 4 to 12 has selected its opening and closing films. PIFF will open with the world premiere of Chinese director Feng Xuaogang’s new movie “Assembly.” Co-produced by China’s Huay Brothers and Korea’s MK Pictures, “Assembly” is a drama about a man who devotes his life to restoring the honor of a comrade who disappeared during the war. Feng is one of China’s most successful directors and gained worldwide recognition with “The Banquet” and “A Sigh.”

The international premiere of the Japanese animation “Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone” by Hideaki Anno, Kazuya Tsurumaki and Masayuki will close the festival in the southern port city also spelled Busan. The animation is a new theatre adaptation of TV animation “”Neon Genesis Evangelion”, which has been enjoying stable popularity with fans in Japan and Asia-wide since 1995. “Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone” is the first of three films Anno has planned and is released in Japan on Sept.

…completion. Currently in post-production and there are several names for this movie – Long River 7 – the literal translation from Chinese. The Chinese name is “Cheung Kong 7″. Then there’s “A Hope” and now CJ7. Err… what’s CJ7 means? I guess it’s “Cheung Kong” in Mandarin??? O_O

According to Variety, we may get to watch it next year during Chinese New Year. I’m crossing my fingers :)

Variety Online has the full article (clickie here).
