[Music] Songs of Week 5th – 11th May

Don’t know what to write here except that I hope you will enjoy the songs that I’ve uploaded. There’s not a lot of new songs for me for this week. Therefore, the songs here are mostly old ones.

[PV] Chemistry – Saigo no Kawa – Zou no Senaka theme

This is the theme song to the movie, Zou no Senaka (Back of the Elephant). The English title will be “The Last River”. The title in Japanese is “最期の川”. When I first watched this PV (without knowing that it is a theme song), I have already guessed that it may be a song to some drama/movie. Well, the PV has a story-plot to it. After I found out, I thought that the scenes in the PV were taken from the movie but they were not. The actor in the PV looked familiar, I have seen him before in those J-dramas that I have watched but I don’t know his name.

I went on to do some R&D on the movie and wow, I think I like the plot. Even though it’s about death :/ I have posted some information links to the movie, if you are interested. Also included the song lyrics’ link and I also found a translation link to it. The lyrics was written by the author of the novel, which the movie was based on.

Regarding the song, it brought back the feelings of the time when I was really really obsessed with Chemistry. Hence, I really really like this song. I hope you like it, too ^^.

Note: As usual, I don’t really have the MQ/HQ of J-PV. This is the LQ version but it’s clear enough.

WOW! Chemistry new MV’s look!

Gosh, it’s been ages since I last keep up-to-date with them and looked at this!!! Their new images for their upcoming MV… This news is in Japanese – not going to translate them (coz lack of skills la) but I can roughly make sense of some of the words.

OK, here’s go: I think the single will be named “This Night” and it will be released on 1st August. This is the first time that the song is written from a girl’s perspective. Ehm…have to do with break-ups. The guys will act in this MV. I think it’s sorta like the Korean-style MV (the ones with story lines). I guess the rest of the article talked about the MV, which is too hard for me to read

But looked at them – they looked very rugged, bad boy-ish!

Space Shower Music Video Awards 2007 nominations

The full list is here.

Hirai Ken is nominated in the Male Video category for “Bye My Melody”. I remembered he won last year for “Pop Star”. I’m hoping he wins. This MV was the weirdest, sexist and ehm, definitely not for the kids ><. I haven’t watched the rest of the male nominees – don’t even recognised the other 4 male singers’ names.

Mr. Children “Shirushi” is nominated in the Group category. I love this song but ehm, the MV is a bit boring. Yes, it shows Sakurai singing with a lot of heart but I don’t think that will be enough to win the award. Hopefully, I’m wrong.

^ I have this MV. It’s a very cool MV. The song name is “Don’t You Know?” and it’s by Fantastic Plastic Machine feat. Clazziquai. The song is very nice too. The MV is nominated under the Groove category.

Chemistry’s “遠影” (Tookage / Distant Shadow) is nominated under the Pop category. I have the MV, just never got around to really watch it.

^ Great , I think I missed this MV – “Sayonara” by Orange Range. Hmm, guess need to go and search for this MV. It’s nominated under the Story category.

m-flo loves MINMI is nominated too (song name is “Lotta Love”) under the Collaboration category. Ahhh…good good…

The awards will be given out on 17th March 2007.
