Lee Jun-ki Leaves for Japan to Promote “Virgin Snow”

Actor Lee Jun-ki left for Japan early Wednesday morning to promote “Virgin Snow,” a joint Korean-Japanese film in which he played the leading role.

Lee will hold a press conference with his co-star Miyazaki Aoi during the four-day visit. Lee’s agent explained that the Japanese media are greatly interested in “Virgin Snow” because of the rising popularity of the Korean idol actor and promising young actress Miyazaki.

Ah…the film will be screening nationwide on 12th May. The Japanese title is “Hatsuyuki no Koi”. I found the official website – there’s trailer, wallpaper, pictures, etc. Ehm…it’s in Japanese though. Here’s a brief summary on how to navigate that site. When the flash has finished loading…you will see the following navigation links at your bottom left-hand corner:

^ starting from right, the navigation in English:

  • Latest News
  • Introduction
  • Story
  • Cast & Staff
  • Specials (link disabled)
  • Gallery
  • Trailers
  • Cinema listing – the list of cinema showing this film
  • (This one I dont know what it is) something sight…it has nothing inside when I clicked on it.

Anyway, I snatched the wallpaper and 1 picture – too lazy to snatch the pictures in the gallery :p maybe later. The theme song is by Moriyama Naotaro. Song title is “未来 ~風の強い午後に生まれたソネット~” (Mirai – Kaze no tsuyoi gogo ni umareta Sonnet ~). Eh…that’s my translation of the title.

You’ll noticed that there are 3 sentences on both pictures:

逢いたくて、
逢えなくて、
逢いたくて。

Uhm…japanese is limited so can’t tell you what it means but I guess it should means “wanted to meet, couldn’t meet, wanted to meet”?

WOW … Naotaro Moriyama sings the theme song? i LOOOOVE his voice so much. i believe the song is going to be great!! i’m definitely getting the dvd of the movie and after this piece of news, i will surely get the OST too.

i was introduced to Moriyama by the drama Itoshi Kimi e. mmm … and talking about this drama … i remember that i said that i haven’t seen any of Tamaki Hiroshi’s works before … well i was mistaken. i’ve seen him before in this particular drama, Last Christmas and also in the hilarious movie Waterboys and recently i finished watching the equally hilarious Nodame Cantabile. thanks to u … heh heh.

  2. yes Ive forgotten about him in that Waterboys movie. Talking about Waterboys, it’s soo cheesy but it’s so fun to watch it. I really like the ending where they performed those moves and another note was the songs used during the performance ^^. Tamaki Hiroshi was not as fair as he is now back then – maybe because it’s due to all those swimming practice. Gosh, I just found out that there’s a Korean OST (3 songs) for Heavenly Forest. I’m waiting if there’s any MV made out of the OST.

Itoshi Kimi e ? hmm…did Moriyama star in it? I first heard of Moriyama from his super-duper popular hit, “Sakura”.

he he … I think Tamaki is not that recognisable in Waterboys, not only because of his darker skin but also i think due to the ‘false’ mole next to his nose and his afro do!! My favourite scene which never fail to make me laugh no matter how many times I watch Waterboys is the one where Tamaki’s afro do caught fire after he hit the radio and what follows after that!!

I believe Naotaro Moriyama is not an actor. Sakura is one of his many great songs and his live performances are just amazing. As for the drama Itoshi Kimi e, it is a love story between a female doctor and a photographer who’s going blind. It stars Miho Kanno and Naohito Fujiki. I guess I was too absorbed with Naohito when I watched the drama that I hardly give any attention to Tamaki.

Is the OST for Virgin Snow already available on line? I wunder who sings the Korean songs in it?

  4. ah…that “leng chai” Naohito… I’m still waiting for SilentRegrets to update their final episode for Love Revolution :( still waiting.

I believe Tamaki is also in Top Caster, supporting character. I heard that this drama is quite good. However, I can’t confirm coz I haven’t watch it la. I’m now stuck watching TVB drama ^_^.

Well, besides that afro-burning-hair scene, there’s 2 funny scenes that involved Tamaki. One was when Tamaki and 2 friends were spying on Satoshi and the gay guy talking. Tamaki was imitating what the 2 of them were saying and then he went over to ask Satoshi. The look of his face when Satoshi told him what the real conversation was. Then the 2nd funny scene was during one of the performance – they set him up to “marry” the gay guy.

As for the Korean OST, I’ll post the tracklist soon. It has songs by Kyun Woo, Viva Soul and K.Basic. I’m not sure if Virgin Snow Japanese OST is available online or not though. Maybe it’s too new coz the film is only scheduled for next month release.

hah hah … yeah those two scenes are also hilarious. funny how his characters tend to attract guys in both Waterboys and Nodame. is that drama Top Caster available here in Malaysia? i want to see his movie Revolver: Blue Spring but unfortunately the dvd released has no english sub.

by the way, the Dolphin guy in Waterboys … isn’t he the famous conductor ‘Cow Milk’ in Nodame? what does ‘leng chai’mean? hot guy?

  6. I havent check…maybe next weekend -should be out in M’sia but whether they have DVDs or not, I’m not sure.

Yep the dolphin guy is Chiaki-senpai’s sifu aka Streszman (don’t know how to spell his name).

“Leng chai” is HK slang for good-looking/handsome guy. And “Leng lui” is for beautiful/pretty girl.

I only realised Tamaki acted in Waterboys after I watched Nodame – when I went online to search for his information, even though I watched Waterboys before Nodame. See, I have a loong way to catch-up on J-Ent.

For the words on the poster, I believe it means something like “Because I want to meet/see (you), I want to meet, I want to meet…”
