Lee Jun Ki’s new movie to open in Korea & Japan

The opening date of the joint Korean-Japanese movie “Virgin Snow” starring Korean actor Lee Jun-ki and Japanese actress Aoi Miyazaki and directed by Han Sang-hee has been announced recently.

The movie, whose completion is slated for late March and which is entitled “First Love” in Japanese, will open across Japan in May during the “gold week,” with the premiere scheduled to take place at the Garden Cinema in Tokyo. Movies that open during the gold week — the longest holiday season of the year in Japan — compete fiercely. The production firm of “Virgin Snow” chose this period for the opening because it is more than confident in its success.

“Virgin Snow” is a story about a high school student named Min (played by Lee), who goes to Japan to study and falls in love with a young girl named Naname (played by Miyazaki), whose melancholic personality captivates his heart.

Miyazaki drew the spotlight for her role in the NHK TV drama “Synesthesia” and has emerged as a top star for her role in the movie “Nana.” Her role in “Virgin Snow” has already drawn significant attention from the Japanese media as she plays opposite Lee, whose status has rapidly elevated from a promising newcomer who debuted in the movie “King and the Clown” to a rising actor.

Meanwhile, Lee will hold his first meeting with his Japanese fans on March 10 in Osaka. The next day he will talk about his acting career during a talk show that will be recorded at the Swiss Hotel in Osaka. Both the meeting and the talk show, in which Lee will show off his charm as an actor and good dancer, are expected to boost his popularity as a top hallyu star. Moreover, “Virgin Snow,” which opens concurrently in Korea and Japan in May, will also solidify Lee’s status in Japan.

Yeah, finally there’s a date for his new movie. I like watching love story and LJK is pure eye-candy :) . But I think this may be those sad love stories.

I first saw LJK danced in Hyo-Ri’s Anystar MV. He danced for a moment, less than a minute, but at least he doesn’t appeared to be stiff (dance-wise).

As for Miyazaki Aoi, the only film I’ve seen her in was “Letter From Niraikanai”. Didn’t watch Nana yet. >< Yes, I’m behind on the latest Japanese movies.

Gomen, :S , Letter from Niraikanai actually has Yuu Aoi, not Miyazaki Aoi. Both names have Aoi and that’s why I have them mixed them.

i can’t wait for the dvd of the movie to be released! and i hope there’ll also be ‘the making of’ dvd released. i love Aoi Miyazaki and have seen quite a number of her movies, the most recent is Sukida and Eli Eli Sabachtani. but i haven’t seen the one that u saw anyway. as for Jun Ki, i’ve seen all his movies (which of course are not as many as Aoi!!) and love him in every one of them especially in King and The Clown. Thanks for sharing the news!

  2. LOL…my bad inoyume… I think I wrote the wrong things there… the actress of Letter from Niraikanai is actually Yuu Aoi, not Miyazaki Aoi – I kinda mixed up the names. Have corrected my post.

uh .. that Yu Aoi … i’ve seen her in Hana and Alice and the most recent Honey and Clover. is that movie Letter from Niraikanai a new movie of hers then?

  4. I think Letter was her earlier film. I haven’t watched both of the films you’ve mentioned. :S Kinda hard to find Japanese films here. Only the popular ones are available. I should start watching Nana – coz I realised Matsuyama Kenichi (that guy from Death Note) was in it.

Diwj … which AOI you’re a big fan of?? heh heh … My fav Aoi of course is Miyazaki … have seen quite a good number of her movies. thinking of getting Eureka … read lots of good review of the movie and also on the actors (it has Yakusho Koji … the Japanese actor in Memoirs of Geisha). one of her recent movies is Heavenly Forest of which dvd (recently released) has no english sub!! i usually bought my Japanese and Korean stuffs online cos it is also hard to find especially Japanese movies here except for horror genre.

is Kenichi the strange-looking guy in Death Note? dun recall seeing him in Nana. i think i have my eyes mostly on Matsuda and Tamayama!! ^___^

  7. Heavenly Forest –> is that the movie with Tamaki Hiroshi (u know, “Chiaki senpai” in Nodame Cantabile)? Gosh I want to see that movie after I saw the trailer screencaps :) .

Yes, Ken’ichi (his name is spelt like that) is that sweet tooth very fair guy in Death Note aka “L”. Actually I like Fujiwara Tatsuya (”Raito”) more (ever since Battle Royale :p) – he’s also a stage actor like Jo Seung Woo.

Wait till I get my hands on Nana, then I keep a lookout for Matsuda and Tamayama ^^.

Yess … Heavenly Forest is the one with Tamaki Hiroshi!! it’s gonna be a kind of sad one-sided love story i think. i haven’t seen any of this Tamaki Hiroshi’s works before though.

do you like Ryuhei Matsuda too? he has a new movie with another beautiful actor, Ando Masanobu titled Big Bang Love. it’s directed by Takashi Miike. this one is not available with english sub yet though. my sister is crazy about his brother Shota Matsuda (from Hana Yori Dango) but i prefer Ryuhei, look and talent-wise!!

  10. O_O oh…that rich tea guy (matsuda shota)…lol I think I saw his brother (Ryuhei) before but couldn’t remember which dorama :p. I don’t even know that they are related.

At least, you can find DVDs. We don’t have lots here and sometimes have to buy :) “illegal ones” to get them.

Yes Masanobu Ando is good looking :) – he was in Battle Royale too with Fujiwara Tetsuya.

LOL, this post was originally about LJK..now :p it kinda about Japanese actors/actresses.

i dun think Ryuhei’s been in any dorama before … and if i’m not mistaken his acting debut is in the movie Gohatto where he acted as a beautiful androgynous looking samurai who had the other samurais falling for him. heh heh … kinda reminds me of Jun Ki’s role in King and the Clown!

i haven’t seen any of Battle Royale movies … now knowing that Masanobu is in it kinda pique my interest to watch it.

i’m sorry that i keep posting about Japanese movies here … but i am just so excited to have found someone who shares the same interest in Japanese movies!

ne … what kind of problem would you have with the custom officer in your country if you buy stuffs like dvds online? by the way, if you dun mind me asking, where you’re from? i do buy ‘illegal’ stuffs especially the Japanese movies if i’m lucky enough to find them here where i live cos the originals are REALLY expensive!!

  12. Well problem with the custom in my country – I once order a box of CDs from YesAsia and in the mailing label, they wrote as DVD – it got held at custom and I have to go all the way to the custom place (located near the airport – that’s 2+ hour ride to and fro) to get it. Not just that, I got taxed to amount that’s equivalent to buying 1.5 CD. I was lucky as they were all CDs coz I think if they were DVDs, the stuff will be likely to be confiscated.

    BTW, I live in Malaysia.

OH MY …. i’m from Malaysia too!!! i had been so far twice unfortunate whereby the dvds i ordered were held and they sent me some kind of form where i have to state at which post office i would be able to pick up the goods. when i went to pick them up, i have to pay in tax almost the equivalence to the goods’ price. the most unfortunate that had happened to me is i lost my goods thrice (they were not delivered to me), but so far YesAsia had re-deliver the goods when i informed them. this happened when i used the standard delivery method. so now, when i ordered things online, i chose the express delivery cos there’ll be a tracking code or number. it’s a bit pricey but i’d rather do that than losing my stuffs altogether. i wunder … where those undelivered goods have gone to???

do you happen to be living in KL then (since it’s about 2+ hour ride to and fro KLIA?)

    Reply

  14. ^ lol, yes Im from KL. err…last time that I was taxed, I didnt actually tell the actual price so I got taxed a bit lesser. Anyway, now if I order CD from YesAsia, I limit to a max of 3 CDs – they will come in small packages which usually the custom officer won’t pick it to be tax. That time when I was taxed, it came with a big box so likely to be “selected”. I have yet to lose any stuff so ** touch wood **

I have no idea what the goods went to but I don’t want to think “bad” things – if you get what I meant :p

Do you live in KL too? LOL, are you in this KpopKingdom organization? :) Im one of the members…

    Dear lee jun ki

When I am with you, I feel alive. You bring to me a happiness that no one else ever could. You bring to me a love I have never known before. I could not imagine what my life would be like without you. You have touched my heart in ways no one could ever comprehend. I love being with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

Every day I wake up thanking God for you. You have given me so much, and I don’t know if I will be able to give back all that you have given me. You have been my guiding light when I was lost. You have been my comforter through all my trials and sorrow. You have been my rock.

Sometimes I feel lost and out of touch, but when you’re there, I feel safe. Your voice soothes me. I could sit here and try to tell you just how I feel, but I can’t find the words other than I am ecstatic we met and have gotten together after all we’ve gone through.

I want to tell you that the love I have for you is undying. It is a love that is strong and enduring and will stand the test of time. I truly feel blessed that you have become a part of my life, and I cannot wait for the day that we can join our lives together. I want to lie next to you at night and fall asleep in your arms. I want to wake to your beautiful smile. I want to share in your joys and sorrows. I want to be your everything, because you are everything to me.

I promise to always love you and always hold you in my heart. I will always be here for you when you need me, and I will love you no matter what life brings us. You are my soul mate, and I vow to love you all eternity. I love you, baby.

    Yours,

    Sherry
