It was in solid07 forums that I first heard of the name “wheesung”. A member has posted a topic on under-rated singers in Korea at that time (around Oct-Nov 2003) and someone has replied to look for “wheesung” (if I remembered correctly the thread which I first discovered his name!). It was also from the same forum that I’ve got to listen to his songs. At that time, it was this album – “It’s Real”, released in mid-2003.

Wheesung was not the first Korean artist that I’ve listened to but his voice was the first one that I fell totally in love with. “It’s Real” was and still is one of my favorite Korean albums. If you watched his Teleconcert 2003, you would fall more deeply in love with his voice. It’s disheartening that this album was not available for sale in Malaysia, if not I would recommend to any person who is really interested in Korean music.

My favorite song from this album is “Mi In” (English title: A Beauty). His voice in this song just melts my heart away (love). Of course, I wouldn’t have picked it as my favorite album if it was based on only 1 song. I recommend all the songs in this album!

Wheesung had 1 English song in this album – “Angel”. His pronunciation was quite good, better than his rendition of “Incomplete” in his debut album (“Incomplete” was a cover of Sisqo song of the same title).

The most fun song, in my opinion, was “Luz Control”. It featured se7en and Lexy. Even though I had no idea what they were singing about, the song actually gave me the impression that se7en and wheesung were having a duel of sorts over a girl (Lexy) :p.

The album design was much better than his debut album (refer to the album pictures below). There are various poses of wheesung in different styles. I liked the pictures on the front and back of the lyric booklet . Notice the background imprint (“It’s Real WHS 2″) on the booklet? I like that. It made the whole booklet looked interesting. Kudos to the designer ^^!
